1954-2001In May of 1954 the last three zeros of the previous banknotes were deleted and the new drachma was equal with one thousand older drachmas. From this point and for twenty years Greek economy become stronger. In early 1970's inflation appeared again and "stayed" with drachma until mid 1990's.  |
